Andrimid is a pseudopeptide antibiotic characterized as a polyketide-nonribosomal peptide hybrid product (PK-NRP) . It inhibits the carboxyl transfer reaction of bacterial acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), thereby suppressing the biosynthesis of bacterial fatty acids.
