Blue Tetrazolium - CAS 1871-22-3

Blue Tetrazolium (Tetrazolium blue), a dye used in microbial research, can be reduced to blue tetrazolium formazan (BTF) . It determines succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) activity in yeast strains as a reduced substrate. Extract BTF using DMSO and test its absorption spectrum. BTF exhibits a wavelength range of 480-600 nm with maximal absorbance at 540 nm [1].
