Cetefloxacin (E 4868) is a broad-spectrum antibacterial antibiotic with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranging from 0.007 to 8 μg/ml. In mice, cetefloxacin demonstrates favorable pharmacokinetic properties and provides protection against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
