N3-TFBA-O2Oc is a photochemical probe comprising azide and aryl groups. This type of azidoaryl compound serves as a classical precursor to nitro compounds and has been utilized by Fleet et al as a versatile photophore for probing biological receptors. Specifically, N3-TFBA-O2Oc functions as a photo-crosslinker (λmax=258 nm) in studies involving estrogen receptors and for direct surface coating of carbon and organic polymers. Additionally, as a click chemistry reagent, N3-TFBA-O2Oc contains an azide group that reacts with molecules featuring an alkyne group through a copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) . It can also engage in strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (SPAAC) with molecules that possess DBCO or BCN groups.
