It acts by catalyzing the production of aldehyde metabolites through amine oxidase, which subsequently binds to the C326 of the ubiquitin E3 ligase FBXO22, recruiting the SCFFBXO22 Cullin complex. This recruitment leads to the further degradation of the histone methyltransferase and the oncogene NSD2.
